Bio

Diane Rolnick was born in New York City where her art-loving grandmother took her to museums as soon as she could walk, encouraging her interest and knowledge of the fine arts and dance at an early age. Dance and art competed for attention until she left the dance world to focus on fine art in college.  Her education includes two degrees from Rhode Island School of Design, a BFA in Painting and a Masters in Art Teaching.  Diane lived in Italy for two years and spent many years in the Boston, Philadelphia and  New York areas before moving to New Mexico 20 years ago.

The artist has shown her work extensively in the United States and is in private and corporate collections in the US, Europe, and Asia. Her work was most recently exhibited at the Pippin Gallery in "Monotypes and More" and The Fallbrook Arts Center (CA) in "Transforming Ink.  Exhibitions in Santa Fe include The Zane Bennett Gallery, The Santa Fe Convention Center Community Gallery, New Concept Gallery, The Wiford Gallery, The Governors Gallery, and The Santa Fe Community College Gallery.  Diane’s work was included in the 2012 New Mexico Showcase at 516 Gallery in Albuquerque and “Pure Paint II” at the Henry Gregg Gallery, Brooklyn, NY, in 2009

Teaching positions have included: University of New Mexico, Santa Fe Community College, The Institute of Indian Arts, College of Santa Fe, The Albuquerque Museum, and Artisans “The Art Spot.”  She currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico in a new house built and designed by partner, Bill Kleinschmidt and herself.
